His name is Steve Gary Wozniak. He was born in 1950. When he was very young, he told his father he wanted to be one of two things: an engineer, or a schoolteacher. As it turns out, he got to be both, but so much more as well.
From becoming a ham radio operator while still in grade school, to learning to design circuits, to becoming an engineer, to designing the home computer that jump-started a revolution, “The Woz” has had a hand in a lot of what someone learning the world from a technical background needs to know. And not only that, he’s taken many opportunities to explain and speak about what he learned and how he learned it.
The purpose of the WOZIPEDIA is to provide a heavily-hyperlinked, deep and informative collection of essays and exhibits using the persona of Steve Wozniak as its center. The core of this will be Wozniak himself and the Apple II, his masterpiece. Using the “one jump from Woz” rule, we’ll compile and create a library and informational stop for people who want to tackle the idea of engineering from a different perspective.
To accomplish this, we’ll compile every last bit of information we can about Steve Wozniak and the Apple II and branch out as needed. The idea is that by focusing from this specific limitation, a greater quality will be achieved and the usefulness of this site will increase.
